KR Untamed Desert Tileset for RPGs

Check Our Terms of Use for This Tileset. NO NFTS! No blockchain!  Games only.  No exceptions!

v2 UPDATE with art updates, sample maps, new edge tiles and more! (But you still get v1 as well!) Desert tileset for RPG Maker and more! Be sure to back up your game before updating as some tiles have been changed to fit Desert Kingdom more closely!

Is it really an RPG without a desert somewhere? The trouble is, most deserts don’t have much in ’em.  Well, you know, they’re deserts, after all.  But don’t let that mean that your maps have to be boring and uninspiring.  Our Untamed Desert tileset has plenty to give you choices.  Your players won’t have to slog through an endless one-tile wasteland.  Not on your watch.

This Desert Tileset Includes:

Ground tiles:

  • Water
  • 3 colors of sand (yellow, gray and red/brown) with four coordinated textures to make paths, etc
  • 2 wood flooring
  • fence and table
  • matching grasses
  • rock path and hole tiles
  • 4 stair patterns, plus an assortment of other wood and metal panels

Wall tiles:

  • 4 rock textures in the same colors as the sand
  • 4 man-made stone walls
  • 5 other wall textures

Cacti and plants:

  • multiple styles of cacti for variety
  • scrub grass
  • tumble weed
  • palm trees
  • dead trees

Town tiles:

  • Stairs and ladders
  • windows
  • animated doors
  • rickety fence
  • shelves and shelf objects
  • bedding
  • market supplies (stands, awnings, produce and baked goods)
  • crates, boxes and barrels
  • hanging laundry

Plus a collection of rocks for more variety!

You also get edge tiles and some shadow tiles to vary up your map appearance even more!

Sample Maps (RPG Maker MV/MZ format)

Check out our samples if you need a little inspiration!

Other animations:

Animated doors, animated oasis and four fire animations!

The Untamed Desert Tileset:

Comes in 48 and 32px

All our tilesets are now available in two tile sizes if applicable – and you get both for one price! Choose what works best for you!

Has High Compatibility

If your game engine supports tilesets of different sizes, it will almost certainly work! Download our compatibility kit to be sure! (We also have a list of engines we’ve already tested.)

It also includes an RPG Maker ready format! (MV/MZ/VX/Ace)

Has Commercial Use Rights

Yes! You can use these tilesets in your game, even if you intend to sell it…and even if the games contain mature themes. See our terms of use for more information.

Hi there,

Enjoying this set very much, but just wanted to say that the below tile causes for some weird river banks. when the water goes in a vertical straight. Tried to upload a picture but itch won't let me so... check the following coordinates of the bitmap:

(402,504) to (406,505)

If you have a straight section of water, it will cause horizontal perturbations. It's not too hard to patch up, but perhaps you may want to look into this because it obviously happens with all the color variations hereof.

OK, will check into it!  Thanks!

Any thoughts on if this can be fixed?

OK, just uploaded a new file with lots of updates, hope this helps!

Thanks! Is this update itch only? I shy to say I have bought on steam...

Yes, I'm sure it will be, it's in the next batch of stuff I'm sending to Komodo but I don't know exactly when they'll add it.

Maybe those rocks be in here then.  I forgot to download this one.  I know there are a lot of even if you have done many.  It might just be a bad idea though. EDIT: I still think a rock pack is a winner.

Nah, since you mentioned it I actually thought of some possible ideas that might work.  :)  You can never have too much of that kind of thing.

Hello. Bought map packs from you guys in the past but have another rpg related question. Do you recommend any rpg music packs to go along with your map packs? I am willing to pay for them. Sent you email regarding this but will comment here just in case.

Replied to your email. :)

Got it. Thanks.

Hi team, do you have any of your packs collected into bundles at any stage? There are a few that I am considering getting (if not all.) I am looking at making a Fallout inspired game for personal use - still trying to identify assets that would suit the Brotherhood of Steel, The Enclave, Vaults, Wasteland, various factions etc.

Thanks for the interest.  :)  We have our biggest bundle here, and we have some smaller bundles available on our website.  Hope this helps!

Hello my friends at kokoro reflections, I noticed you just updated the pack minutes sago, but when I tried to unzip the file folder an unspecified error pops up.  Can you take a look at the file when you get a chance?

Edit:  Thank you, I got it to extract this time!  You guys are awesome artists and I feel honored to have the chance to support and use your artwork.

We appreciate your support so much!  I was about to have a look because we have had some zip files generate strange errors for people.  If you have any trouble with any other downloads, let us know and we'll get them fixed asap.  We also did some edits of the autotiles on a2 (the update you noticed) so if you spot any issues with those, we'd be very happy if you let us know.  Thanks again!

I am having problems extracting the zip files for MV, but the Ace ones work fine. Problem is, I need the MV ones haha. It will extract the A2 file, but all of the other files give me error message "0x80004005: Unspecified error."

I just uploaded a new version, let me know if this one works better for you!

Thank you, yes it does!

are the tiles 48by48?

Yes!  There are both 48x48 and 32x32 versions available.  :)

Did I miss it. Shouldn't that be in the description? :P

I don't know if you're intending to use these tiles for RPG Maker, but it does note the software for which they're designed at the top of the listing.  MV uses 48x48 and VX Ace uses 32x32. It's easy to look up the graphics specs for those engines, for those who would like to use them for other engines.
